Born in Richmond, Virginia, Kristen Perkins, the photographer behind Through the Viewfinder, has spent the past seven years dabbling in fine art photography. Introduced to 35mm photography and dark room processing at a young age, Kristen’s interest in black and white images grew quickly. With the surge in digital photography, Kristen found her interests shifting to full color images and digital photo manipulation. Currently shooting with a digital Canon Rebel XT, Kristen completes all of her image manipulation and printing through digital means.
Through the Viewfinder Photography is a means for Kristen to display her work in an online portfolio, of sorts. While much of Kristen’s work is available for purchase, orders will have to be made by contacting Kristen directly through her Contact page. Kristen also participates in various art fairs across the state, and will post schedules of these shows accordingly.
Kristen currently lives in Richmond, Virginia with her husband Adam – a gifted graphic and web designer who is an integral part of Through the Viewfinder Photography – and daughter Hannah. They are expecting an addition to their family in March of 2007. She graduated from James Madison University with a degree in Psychology, and is currently in a sales-related field.
